Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is typically normal in SSCD syndrome. MRI may be of diagnostic value if a concomitant CSF leak or meningoencephalocele exists.54 As radiographic technology continues to improve, new protocols and techniques continue to push the diagnostic envelope. Some authors have recently advocated for digital volume tomography (also called cone-beam CT) for its higher resolution and reduced artifact.55,56
